Choosing a home is as much about the neighbourhood as the apartment. This guide explains how to look at Sector 109 in Gurugram in a practical way, so you can judge the area for yourself before you decide.
Where Sector 109 fits on the map
Sector 109 lies on the western side of Gurugram, in the residential belt that has grown around the Dwarka Expressway. The expressway links Gurugram with southwest Delhi, and new residential projects, shops and services have been developing along the corridor.
The approach road matters as much as the expressway
A major road nearby does not always mean an easy journey. The way you reach it every day is what counts. When you visit, check:
- The project entrance and the width of the road leading to it.
- The nearest point where you would join the expressway.
- Junctions and signals on the route you would use regularly.
- Whether each road you plan to rely on is open and in use today.
Map your everyday life before you decide
Write down the ten or so places you visit every week: a school, your office, a clinic, grocery shops, a park, a place of worship, family and friends. Then check the route to each one at the hours you would really travel, not only at a quiet time of day.
A simple plan for exploring the area
- Visit during the morning or evening commute and note the traffic.
- Walk the entrance and the nearby streets.
- Return in the evening to see how the area feels after dark.
- Locate essentials such as hospitals, schools, shops and public transport.
- Talk to residents or shopkeepers about daily life in the area.
